Rankboard

Rules

Rank is the bid, nothing else.

Three things decide everything here: what you paid, when you paid it, and where you pointed it. The rest of this page is only detail.

01

How rank is decided

  • Bids are whole US dollars. Nothing on this board is priced in cents.
  • An address that is not listed yet needs at least $1 to join.
  • An address already listed moves by raising its own bid, by at least $1. You pay only the difference between the bid it holds and the bid you want.
  • Paying that difference does not hand anyone your place. A rank belongs to the address, so raising a listing raises it for whoever owns the address.
  • Highest bid sits at the top. When two listings hold the same amount, whoever got there first stays ahead, so matching a bid never takes a place from anyone.
  • A bid holds its rank until someone outbids it. No clock, no expiry, no renewal.
02

What you can list

  • A product site, such as example.com, or an X handle, such as @example.
  • One rank per address. Submitting an address that is already on the board raises the bid it holds rather than opening a second row.
  • Query strings are stripped before a link is stored, so referral, affiliate, and campaign parameters do not survive the submission.
  • Play Store links keep the id that names the app, so two apps never end up sharing one listing. Everything else in a query string goes.
  • Link shorteners and chat invites cannot hold a rank, because a visitor should be able to see where a click goes before making it.
  • No sexual or adult material, nothing illegal, and nothing that impersonates another business. A listing that breaks this is removed, and the bid is not returned.
03

What happens after you bid

  • The listing goes public straight away, with its bid printed beside it.
  • Clicks go to the address you submitted, tagged with utm_source=rankboard so the traffic shows up in your own analytics.
  • The click count beside a listing is its running total since the day it was claimed.
  • Payment is taken by Creem, who act as merchant of record and appear on your statement. A completed payment is what claims the rank, not a submitted form.
04

What a bid buys

  • A position on this board, held for as long as your bid is high enough to hold it. That is the whole product.
  • Not a length of time. Your place can be taken an hour after you pay, and that is the board working as described rather than something going wrong.
  • Not traffic. Clicks are reported beside each listing as a matter of record. No number of visits or customers is promised.
  • Not an endorsement. Position reflects what was paid, never quality, and a listing is not a recommendation.
  • Bids are final. Being outbid is not grounds for a refund.
05

Payment and chargebacks

  • Placing a bid confirms you have read what it buys and the price you are paying, and authorises the payment.
  • Payment is handled by Creem, who act as merchant of record and appear on your statement. Card details never reach this site.
  • If anything is wrong with your listing, email [email protected] and we will sort it out. Please do that before opening a payment dispute or chargeback.
  • Nothing here limits any right that cannot legally be excluded.
